I’m starting to see fine lines beneath my eyes, and it feels like my current hydration-heavy routine isn’t cutting it. Does anyone have favorite retinol eye products for less than $80?
I’ve been applying the Murad retinol eye serum lately.
Honestly, eye cream is kind of a scam. It’s mostly just overpriced moisturizer. I just bring my retinal up to about a quarter inch from my lower lash line. You aren’t supposed to use retinal on the upper lid at all, but I’ve been using SYNERVA there for the peptides and it’s been great.
Medik8 is a solid choice.
I used to use Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Bakuchiol Eye Cream and enjoyed it. That said, I switched to itk’s day and night creams recently and the difference is clear! I also layer a hydrating toner, hyaluronic acid on damp skin, my usual moisturizer, and sunscreen under my eyes.
I apply 0.05% tretinoin under my eyes ($5) and use Shiseido Benefiance eye cream ($70) or organic castor oil ($40) as a buffer. It’s very effective!
Vaseline. Your eye area just needs moisture.
I just use a mild facial retinoid under my eyes. The price per milliliter for eye-specific products is ridiculous compared to regular skincare, and it’s not really justified.
I haven’t personally tried it, but I’ve seen many dermatologists recommend the Beauty of Joseon Revive eye serum. It contains retinal and costs less than $20.
Neutrogena’s retinol eye cream has actually made my fine lines disappear.
