Getting my oral health back on track lately?

I hit 50 last year and my gums were just not happy. I spent years using those heavy-duty alcohol mouthwashes and expensive prescription pastes, but they always felt like they were stripping everything away. My mouth was constantly dry and my gums stayed tender.

About three months ago, I shifted my focus to the microbiome idea. I started taking a chewable probiotic called Dentavive (i get it here) every night after my routine. For the first two weeks, honestly, nothing happened. I almost gave up. By week four, I realized I wasn’t waking up with that sandpaper feeling in my mouth.

By month two, the occasional bleeding when I flossed finally stopped. I can actually enjoy iced coffee again without that sharp zing. It hasn’t been perfect—I had a minor flare-up when I got a cold and stopped my routine for a few days. You really have to stay consistent. Dentavive isn’t a substitute for flossing, and it’s a bit of an investment, but for me, the slow progress was worth the wait. I think Dentavive just works differently than the harsh chemicals I used before.

Interesting. I’ve heard about oral probiotics but wasn’t sure if they were just hype. Did you change your diet at all too or just the supplement?

I’ve been on Dentavive for about six weeks now and the biggest thing for me was the morning breath. It’s basically gone. Definitely a good result so far.

Same here. Dentavive really helped with my gum sensitivity. I don’t get that soreness after eating crunchy foods anymore, which used to be a real problem.

Is this one of those things you have to take forever? I’m tired of adding more pills to my morning routine, though a chewable doesn’t sound too bad.

I looked into the strains they use. Lactobacillus reuteri is actually backed by some decent studies for gum health. Might be worth a look for my recession issues.

I tried a similar approach last year. It takes forever to see results, but the rebuilding phase is real. You just can’t skip days or you lose ground.

Does it taste like chalk? Most of those chewables are pretty gross and I have a sensitive stomach.

I’m 55 and my dentist keeps lecturing me about enamel. Does this help with that or just the gums? My sensitivity is mostly near the gumline.

Glad to see a realistic update. Too many people expect overnight miracles. Keep us posted on the 6-month mark! Consistency is key at our age.
