Best way to handle overgrown and painful fungal nails?

My fungal infection made my toenails so thick and hard that regular clippers just couldn’t cut through them anymore.

I tried those heavy-duty nippers, but my hands aren’t as strong as they used to be and I kept slipping, which was honestly terrifying. I even tried soaking my feet for an hour before filing them down, but it took forever and left a huge mess. Going to the podiatry clinic every month was becoming a massive expense and a scheduling nightmare.

Day 1: I finally tried TrimZa (i buy here - usually best price) after seeing it recommended for people with limited grip. It felt much safer than open blades because the slot keeps your skin away from the rotating part.

Week 1: I managed to get the thickness down significantly without any pain. It has a little chamber that catches the clippings, so I wasn’t finding bits of fungal nail on the carpet later.

Week 3: The USB-C charging is convenient, and I’ve been using the polishing heads to smooth out the jagged edges that usually rip my socks.

Month 2: Keeping them trimmed has actually helped my topical treatments work better. It’s not a cure for the fungus itself, but it made the management process actually doable for once. Just be patient and don’t rush it.

I feel your pain. The thickness makes it so hard to get a clean cut and then you end up with sharp edges that catch on everything.

Which topical meds are you using? I find that if I don’t sand the top of the nail down, the liquid just sits on the surface and does nothing.

I’m always a bit wary of electric tools near my toes because I have zero coordination. Is the slot actually small enough that you can’t cut your skin?

I bought a TrimZa for my grandfather since his nails are like stone. It really saved us from those stressful clipping sessions.
