I’ve always been active, but I recently switched to a boutique hot yoga studio. I loved the intensity, but I wasn’t as careful as I should have been about hygiene. Looking back, the environment was the perfect breeding ground for trouble. The studio is humid, and while they clean the floors, dozens of people are walking everywhere barefoot. I started noticing my big toe looking a bit cloudy and yellow about three weeks in.

I decided to tackle this using a four-step approach: habits, environment, routine, and tracking. First, I changed my habits by never stepping foot on that floor without grip socks. For the environment, I started sanitizing my own mat after every single session. My daily routine was the biggest change. I tried several over-the-counter creams, but they were so messy and didn’t seem to soak in properly. I needed something that actually felt like it was repairing the skin and nail resistance. I eventually started using ProNail Complex ([i order from here](https://mwebzova.com/8920/1851/3/)) after a friend mentioned it. It’s an oil-based blend with vitamins that felt much more natural on my skin than the harsh chemicals I was trying before.

Finally, I’ve been tracking the progress with photos every Sunday. The yellowing is finally growing out, and the skin around the nail doesn’t look inflamed anymore. It’s a slow process, but the resistance seems better.

What would you do if you were in a similar situation? Would you quit the studio entirely, or just invest in better grip socks? I’m torn because I love the class, but my feet are clearly sensitive to that environment. I’m curious if anyone else has managed to stay in their hobby while fighting off a persistent infection like this.

I know exactly what you mean about those studio floors. I had a similar issue from my local gym showers last year. I actually tried ProNail Complex as well and it really helped clear up the edges of my nails where they were getting brittle. Definitely stick with the socks though, the floor is never as clean as they say it is!

Grip socks are a game changer. I’d also suggest bringing your own spray for your mat. Most studios use a very diluted solution that doesn’t kill everything. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

Don’t quit the class if you love it! Just be vigilant. I’ve been using ProNail Complex for about two months now for a stubborn spot I picked up at the community pool. It’s the only thing that didn’t dry out my skin while getting rid of the yellowing. The oil blend really makes a difference compared to those harsh sprays.

Wait, are you sure it’s fungus and not just bruising from certain poses? Sometimes the pressure on the toes can cause discoloration that looks like an infection. Might be worth seeing a podiatrist just to confirm.

I would never go barefoot in a public space anymore. Once you get a nail infection once, you realize how much of a pain it is to get rid of. It takes months for the nail to grow out completely. Stick to the socks and stay consistent with the treatment.

Glad you’re seeing progress! It’s such a test of patience. I’m currently dealing with something similar from a hotel stay and it’s driving me crazy. Tracking with photos is a great idea, sometimes it feels like nothing is happening until you look back at the old pictures.
